Contexts for the Semantic Web

The Semantic Web vision and its technologies will enable meaningful sharing of distributed content based on structured data and ontologies. The annotation of data is key for content federation on the internet and the domain description is easy to extend based on open standards such as RDF, RDF Schema and OWL. Context as simple schema allocation and namespace roaming is a useful approach to customize application specific data, though a hierarchical structure does not suffice to cover multiple inheritance or to define property constraints such as false positives or inverse relations etc.

On the other hand the Semantic Web framework does provide a foundation for contextualization of query answering on distributed online content.
